Camps 2010
there are 2 camps this year:
1. The Summer Camp
Wed 11 – Sun 15 August (4pm Wed till 4pm Sunday)
South Dornaford, Okehampton, Devon EX17 3RF
The Summer Camp
is a Living Movement event, tradition even, that’s been running since 1990.
Now in it’s 5th year at South Dornaford Farm, people come from all over the country to enjoy, share, play, learn, feast, and generally have a great time together.
You can come for the whole event, part of it or by the day.
Most people camp, though there are now 3 indoor rooms to choose from if you prefer a bed.
You are welcome as a complete novice to tai chi or
as a seasoned enthusiast. There’s always a good mix of people and one of the joys is people sharing their own interests and talents.
The philosophy
Living Movement is more than just tai chi. Tai Chi and Qigong are the main vehicles for exploring human wellness, health and consciousness. At the Summer Camp there's more space to explore - that's why we include art, massage and impromptu games/events/ discussions as a way to explore different aspects of being human together.
The place
There’s lots of space at South Dornaford. It sits in 200 acres of meadow and woodland bordering the river Okement. It’s the perfect place for a camp - the sessions are fun with venues ranging from woodland to riverside meadow to marquee to converted barn dojo/studio, there is plenty of feasting and the camp fire burns from start to finish.
