About the Retreat:

This residential retreat at Sharpham house in South Devon gives you the opportunity to restore your energy, take a breather from the busy-ness of your life and to feed your body and soul with fresh energy and inspiration.

It’s a springtime retreat that’s designed to definitely put some ‘Spring’ into your step with the tried and tested combination of: the exceptional exercise of tai chi and qigong, good food, good rest, fresh air and good company.

In terms of the tai chi we explore the 5 principles of Living Movement, using key moves from tai chi form, listening for the ‘soft force’ in our bodies with the tai chi moves, with others in pushing hands and outside with the springtime energies, in nature. Hopefully, we create opportunities to gain insight into our own nature through connecting with the forces and principles of the ‘bigger nature’.

You may be starting your tai chi journey from scratch or you may be well on the road, looking to deepen your understanding and experience. Whoever you are, you’re welcome to join whatever your level of experience.

Although there may be times of silence during the course, this is not a silent retreat. There is usually a fair amount of conversation that takes place, which in itself plays a part in the momentum of the experience. People often like to bring wine (or non-alcoholic favourites) to share at evening meals.

About the Place:

Sharpham is easy to get to and wonderfully placed, overlooking the Dart river valley just south of Totnes. A beautiful, historical house built on the basis of classical architecture from the Georgian period,  offers exceptionally good vegetarian food (much of it from their organic garden) and comfortable accommodation. Rooms are shared (mostly twin, one 3 bedded) as well as offering single accommodation.

here’s the countdown!! .....
