Training for Occupational Therapists
With the sense that people are able to significantly reclaim their lives from both mental and physical dis-ease and fragmentation, Living Movement tai chi offers an immense and powerful potential.
The Living Movement approach to learning tai chi and qigong enables people to quickly capture the spirit of tai chi and discover possibilities for its creative application to life.
I’ve recently been working more in this field by offering Developmental Training Seminars for OT’s and mental health staff.
These trainings give delegates a direct and accessible experience of the key principles of tai chi and qigong, equipping them with some very helpful, practical tools, exercises and techniques for use in their profession. People find that the trainings, as well as offering a professional tool, inevitably impact favourably on their personal health and wellbeing.
It is intended that professionals attending these trainings will be offering exercises and approaches to wellbeing that are inspired by tai chi and qigong. The trainings do not equip people to become teachers of tai chi and qigong (though this can be a valuable personal goal)
What The Training Delivers:
- A practical experience of the tai chi approach to posture, movement and health
- A clear, practical formula to employ in your profession
- Insight into the application of tai chi principles to occupational therapy
- An experiential understanding of the key principles of tai chi
- A developmental experience of key qualities and specific exercises
- A collection of exercises to take away
- Inspiration in terms of ideas and new directions in the OT profession
- Profession enhancement
- A certificate for the training
I offer the courses nationwide. If you’d like to find out more or to talk through possibilities, please give me a call or drop me an email.
