 Welcome to Living Movement

Tai Chi, Nature and Health with Angus Clark

Spring 2025

Hello. I hope you are well. There is a lot for you to chose from
with Living Movement Tai Chi.  Please take a look around and explore the possibilities.

You are welcome online or in person to join a class, have one-to-one tuition, come on a chi walk,
learn a personal practice of tai chi and or qigong, and train to teach if you're that way inclined.
I look forward to seeing you, hearing from you and practising the tai chi together - Angus

Angus Clark, founder of Living Movement has been playing the tai chi game for over 40 years. He is lives in Devon, UK. A lot of his work is nature based.
With Angus you can learn his compact Tai Chi Essence set; the classic Dr. Chi / Cheng Man-Ching Short Form; the 108 step Long Form; Tai Chi Sword; White Crane Qigong; and the 2 person practices of San Shou (dance), Da Lu and Pushing Hands.

Most people like to play purely for the fun and sense of physical and mental wellbeing that you get from this movement art. But if you’re one of those people who’d like to take it further then no problem - you can study with Angus in depth and become a recognised instructor of the Tai Chi Union of Great Britain..

Here, below is a little Chi Break from my Living Movement You Tube Channel that you might like to try out.

Living Movement is Angus's take on tai chi and qigong. It recognises how this type of attentive, natural movement can play a fundamental role in the broad spectrum of human health and fulfilment.

Tai Chi in Nature ....
Green exercise and time in Nature have been proven to be good for us*
and with its natural rhythms and cycles, Tai Chi fits the bill exactly. Practicing the tai chi outside is
inspiring, uplifting, balancing, healing.
A good place to experience tai chi in nature is on a Chi Walk

RESEARCH
The findings of the research into the effects of Living Movement Tai Chi conducted by Jules Pretty in recent years can be found here in the International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health.
" ...it would be entirely reasonable to suggest that Living Movement Tai Chi saves the NHS money by keeping people healthy and happy!"

Green exercise and time in nature have been proven to be good for us:
'We have undertaken a decade of research into the contexts, effects and outcomes of green exercise and nature-based interventions, showing clearly and in a wide variety of contexts that physical activity in the presence of nature improves health and well-being'   (Pretty et al., 2005, 2007, 2011, 2015; Hine et al., 2008; Barton and Pretty, 2010; Barton et al., 2009, 2012, 2016; Gladwell et al., 2012; Pretty, 2013; Rogerson et al., 2015; Wood et al., 2015).
