Let's Move!
because...
movement is life and life is movement......

Welcome to Living Movement......
Tai Chi and Qigong with Angus Clark

Tai Chi and Qigong give us ways to exercise that are inspiring, easy to learn,
make you feel good and offer a great way to maintain your health and vitality.

"The human body has evolved to give us the most refined combination of strength, flexibility and coordination known in nature. To achieve this we have ‘borrowed’ design feature from all other creatures, so that although we can be outrun, outclimbed or outswum, none other can compete with us if taken in triathlon". Stewart Mitchell, the Naturopathic Gym

Angus Clark, founder of Living Movement has been playing the tai chi game for 35 years. He is based in Devon, UK. A lot of his work is nature based.
Living Movement is Angus's take on tai chi and qigong. It recognises how this type of 'attentive' movement can play a fundamental role in the broad spectrum of human health and fulfilment.
With Angus you can learn the Tai Chi Essence with a collection of moves and exercises; the classic Dr. Chi / Cheng Man-Ching Short Form; as well as the Long Form; Tai Chi Sword; White Crane Qigong; and the transformational 2 person practices of San Shou (dance), Da Lu and Pushing Hands.
Exercise is good for you!
Tai Chi is an exercise that is fun and easy to learn, that will relax and energise you, give you strong legs, build your stamina, flexibility, vitality  and as well as all of this, will help you to let go of unwanted stress and tensions. That's a lot!

In Living Movement you can enjoy a retreat, a wide range of workshops, attend weekly classes if you’re local to Moretonhampstead/Chagford/Bovey Tracey, go for in-depth one to one tuition,  train to become an instructor or all of these.
Stay in touch with what's going on and receive the monthly newsletter

If you're not able to attend in person then you can work from books, DVDs  and online or downloadable films and tutorials that you can take with you on your phone or tablet and enjoy the tai chi wherever you are.

You’ll find some free films and have the option to buy as well ....

Most people like to play purely for the fun and sense of wellbeing that you get from this movement art. But if you’re one of those people who’d like to take it further then no problem - you can study with Angus in depth and become a recognised instructor of the Tai Chi Union of Great Britain.

Tai Chi in Nature ....
Tai Chi is based on the way things like to work - natural principles, rhythms and cycles.
Practicing the tai chi outside, therefore, can be most uplifting, bringing insight and inspiration.
And no surprises really - green exercise and time in nature have been proven to be good for us:
'We have undertaken a decade of research into the contexts, effects and outcomes of green exercise and nature-based interventions, showing clearly and in a wide variety of contexts that physical activity in the presence of nature improves health and well-being' (Pretty et al., 2005, 2007, 2011, 2015; Hine et al., 2008; Barton and Pretty, 2010; Barton et al., 2009, 2012, 2016; Gladwell et al., 2012; Pretty, 2013; Rogerson et al., 2015; Wood et al., 2015).
